Our client is a global leading MNC with a strong reputation within the Consumer Goods and Packaging industry, servicing diverse industries including F&B and Chemicals industry. Looking to drive their business forward within the region, they are looking for a Regional Business Development Director - APAC to support growth for their Plant Automation business in the region. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding markets, developing business and sales strategies and ensuring continued success within the region.


about the job

In this role, you will be collaborating closely with Regional Lead, to devise and implement sales strategies, directly leading to revenue growth for their Automation business in the APAC region. The key markets covered will include Food and Beverage and Chemicals industry. Some of the core duties of this crucial role include:

  • Creating and promoting plant automation solutions to clients, through multiple avenues, i.e. exhibitions and seminars
  • Understanding current market landscape and competitor’s offerings to develop key differentiating tactics/strategies to grow the business
  • “Hunting” for new business throughout the new region and bringing in new sales for the region
  • Developing and executing overall business strategy for Automation business for the region
  • Taking complete ownership of revenue growth and sales in the Automation Solutions within the region
  • Identifying potential business opportunities in which client’s automation solutions can be leveraged on

skills and experience required

To qualify for this critical and dynamic growth role, you will ideally have :

  • At least 10 years experience in complex solutions B2B sales in Automation Systems
  • Experience selling into F&B / Chemicals industry is a huge advantage
  • Outstanding communication skills and able to work autonomously
  • Broad technical understanding in the automation field: including programming, servers and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) / MIS (Management Information System)
  • Comfortable working with senior leadership and prior experience managing in a matrix environment
  • Willingness to travel intensely within the region
