about the job
You will be the creator of flavour solutions for beverages, sweet goods, citrus and dairy products around the world.
You will work closely with Regional Account Managers and Regional Business Unit Heads and their teams on customer specific commercialization strategies. This will require direct participation and provide cross-functional leadership within global teams in strategic categories
You must understand regional taste differences and preferences and use this knowledge to guide new ingredient and technology delivery. You will interact with key customers regionally and globally to understand requirements and build solid relationships
Conduct organoleptic evaluations of scaled up new flavours and remain current with changes in regulations which may impact the use of new ingredients and technologies
Advise commercial flavourists on other reactive customer briefs requiring innovative input.
You have to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems with raw materials and finished goods as needed by technically partnering with vendors while ensuring all flavours meet Flavour Industrialization Rules
about the manager/team
As a single contributor based in Singapore, you will be reporting directly to the Head of Research & development. As a senior flavourist, you can expect opportunities to mentor and lead junior / trainee flavourist as part of your career development plans.
skills & experience required
You will possess at least a degree in biological or chemical science with at least 10 years working experience in the flavour industry.
Demonstrated ability to develop flavours in all categories and modify flavour formulae to meet customer specs.. You must have an advanced understanding of analytical methodologies (G.C. HPLC, Mass Spec.) with extensive knowledge of raw materials, ingredients and costing as well as functionality, compatibility and stability.
You should have extensive knowledge of flavour and food regulations in various countries as well as demonstrated proficiency in the creation and production of savoury top notes, processed flavours, extracts, emulsions, liquid compounds and spray dried flavourings
