Our client is a growing renewable energy player with an established presence across Asia Pacific and is involved in providing sustainable energy / solar solutions to businesses and governments across the region. As part of their growing business within the region, this established brand is looking to increase their footprint and is looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager within the Photovoltaic space to cover specific territories in Southeast Asia. about the job

This role reports directly to the VP of Business Development / International and is responsible for creating strategic plans of actions, to develop business and to identify business opportunities within the renewable energies within the region. You will be responsible for executing, managing and supporting sales related activities within the company. some of the core duties of the role include:

  • Engaging with regional customers in multiple industries, ie commercial, industrial and government sectors to explore suitable business opportunities within the renewable energy market
  • Developing and maintaining key accounts, while exploring new avenues and opening up new streams of business
  • Partnering with the customer to understand the intricacies of their business, and providing customized solutions specific to their requirements
  • Generating sales and ensuring strong sales results (turnover and margin) and being in charge of the overall sales process and market development
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders internally, keeping them informed of the need for support where necessary, in order to win key projects and grow the brand new regionally

skills and experience required

To be successful in this crucial role, you should have more than 5 years experience of sales experience in the Solar Energy / renewable energy industries and should ideally possess the following:

  • Degree in Engineering disciplines
  • Understanding of multi-project landscape within the region
  • Solar power, PCS and utility environment knowledge would be strongly advantageous
  • Experience in regional sales work
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work in a cross cultural/cross functional environment
