My client is a container shipping joint venture formed in 2016. Headquartered in Singapore and Tokyo, it iherits the operations of its parent companies.

about the job

  • Provide analysis, implementation, support, testing and training services for South Asia Pacific (SAS) Region to shipping application systems.
  • Analyze users’ needs, clarify and understand their requirements and what could be done to facilitate their workflow
  • Perform comprehensive acceptance tests to ensure that all functional requirements are met
  • Support, train and help users to understand and use the new system or enhancements
  • Evaluate process problems to ensure minimum inconvenience to users upon switching to the new system/functions
  • Initiate meetings with users if necessary, to convey launch plans and making sure users understand the transition process upon the switch to the new system/function
  • Communicate and coordinate with the technical team on functional requirements of users’ needs
  • Understand the shipping business and its activities
  • Document and publishing the standard business process to all countries
  • Analyze, understand and keep track of special needs of each country, eg. regulatory requirements
  • Initiate and setup meetings to review latest developments and information
  • Coordinate with relevant parties to achieve objectives
  • Manage and coordinate the rollout of projects by RHQ/GHQ


skills and experience required

  • Diploma/ Degree in Business/ Shipping/ Information Technology or equivalent
  • Minimally 3 years experience in booking, export and import documentation process in the shipping industry
  • Able to work independently and under pressure
