My client is a global expanding market leader in the creative lifestyle industry. With investments in Technology and digital transformation, they are hiring a newly created position of a Chief Technology Officer, CTO. In addition to bolstering internal core capabilities, it is equally vital to elevate the customer journey. Within this trajectory of digital transformation, these improvements may involve the implementation of a digital wallet, the refinement of mobile applications, and the advancement or creation of POS 2.0 and mobile kiosks. In addition, one of the key business objectives is to explore the potential of franchising and notably, this requires the organization's technological landscape to be well-established from a digital standpoint, necessitating a well-defined progression of steps. Hence, hiring an innovative-thinking CTO is highly essential.
about the job
Reporting to the CEO, your role involves:
- Identifying and championing digital transformative technology initiatives, IT architecture and strategy development that streamline operations and enhance customer experiences.
- Overseeing the enhancement of IT infrastructure locally and internationally (e.g. network) ensuring scalability, security to support the organization's growth across various locations and markets.
- Leading the technology team by fostering a culture of innovation, encouraging out-of-the-box thinking to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
- Collaborating closely with other departments for strategic initiatives, implementing solutions that drive data-driven decision-making, and aligning tech strategy with roadmaps.
- Mitigating technology-related risks by implementing robust cybersecurity measures, disaster recovery plans, and compliance strategies, safeguarding the company's reputation and data integrity.
- Cultivating relationships with strategic vendors and technology partners as well as overseeing IT resource allocation and performance metrics.
skills and experience required
As a successful candidate you should have:
- Comfortable with travel about once per month or once per 2 months.
- Experience as a CTO, or similar leadership role such as C-1/Director etc in a regional/global capacity within the creative lifestyle/F&B/retail/entertainment/hospitality industry is desirable.
- Proven track record leading digital transformation initiatives and cross-unit team integration.
- Experience in leadership with end-to-end technology implementation (e.g. POS/ERP/CRM/Cloud Servers). – Company has migrated to Azure Cloud (servers are on-prem), experience with AWS is also acceptable.
- Expertise in AI/Machine Learning is good to have.
