Our client is a global leader within their industry with international presence across 26 countries. With rapid expansion, they are seeking Database Administrator to be part of their team.

about the job ...

Responsible in the areas of database design, sizing, support and maintenance
Provide advice to the application teams based on in-depth understanding of the technology, trend and technical components of databases (MS SQL, MySQL & MariaDB)
Develop processes for optimizing database security.
Install and maintain the performance of database servers
Set and maintain database standards.
Proficient writing Linux shell scripts for maintenance and automation purposes
Maintaining production, UAT and dev databases without outage
Perform database administration, fine tuning and troubleshooting.

skills and experience required

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Technology with strong proficiency in MariaDB and MySQL/MS SQL database management
Experience in optimise the database by using indexing, load balancing, session management, deadlock and etc.
Experience in setting up Master-Slave replication, Multi-Master replication, backup, point in time recovery, high available configurations and disaster recovery in a complex and dynamic production environment
Familiarity with other databases such as EDB PostgreSQL or DB2 UDB will be an added advantage
Knowledge of Linux operating system (RedHat) and basic commands
