Director for Regional Business Development ( E - Commerce)

Our client is an iconic and reputable Global Distributor of FMCG goods. Established for over 30 years and headquartered in Singapore, They are looking to elevate their business to the next level by investing in E commerce and technology. Globally, they have a network of distributors in more than 50 markets.

Job description

Reporting to the Regional MD based in SG, you will help drive sales growth by identifying areas for expansion and improvement in the market.

  • The Director for Business Development, E Commerce is mainly responsible for end-to-end eCommerce business performance including sales, availability, pricing, order management, order fulfilment, after-sales service. Emphasis in developing eCommerce business (globally, CHINA / Southeast Asia focused) for new accounts/clients, and nurture and grow existing client accounts
  • Additional responsibilities will be Identify market white space opportunities in the region, pricing of new business to potential manufacturer’s / suppliers.
  • Manage and work closely with Beijing e-commerce operational team of 5 to develop and grow top line.
  • Liaise with eCommerce partners to build relationships and network, understand category and brand performance across channels and advise on strategies to drive and achieve business objectives.
  • Manage annual negotiations, including trading terms and conditions, to facilitate sales agreements and achieve targeted margins.
  • Manages inventory, promotional mechanism (e.g. bundles creation, discounts activation, vouchers etc)
  • Implementing campaigns and initiatives for new brands to boost their performance
  • Ensure overall sales target are met through planning, forecasting, marketing and collaboration with internal teams
  • Recommend processes and performance measures to improve and motivate business development team in line with the company objectives

The successful applicant

  • Diploma, Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or related discipline
  • Minimum 8-10 years of Regional commercial sales experience and experience in a principal or distributor firm - FMCG sector / B2C sectors, preferably China market.
  • Excellent and proven E-Commerce startup experience with partners - Commercial & relationship building skills and strong in numbers.
