about the company

As one of Singapore’s leading developers, our client is seeking to use this project as their sustainability showcase piece. As one of the many projects kick into high gear, we are expanding the Project Management team. To ensure that the development process (which is at concept stage) is able to incorporate sustainability into their long term plans, we are assembling the team today.

This role is an opportunity to steer a team of consultants to conceptualize the iconic project while maintaining sustainability at its core. Owing to the unique nature of the project, interesting challenges will emerge and this role rewards people who enjoy dealing with changing variables like this. You will be ably supported by a team of specialists, all very passionate about the project you are driving. Your ability to see the bigger picture will see you do well in this role.

With a dynamic project team that consists of a set of professionals from various backgrounds, you will drive all aspects of the sustainability elements of the development. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Greenmark Platinum Rating: Greenmark is a strong initiative to help developers assess and measure their environmental impact and to reward positive steps in this direction. Being a conscious developer, it will be your responsibility to ensure that the project is awarded a Greenmark Platinum rating and working closely with internal & external consultants to achieve the same.
  • Working with a team focused on various aspects of sustainability: Given the size and scale of the project, you will be required to manage and guide others in ensuring sustainable initiatives are driven into every aspect of the project, right from the project planning and concept stages.
  • Innovation and pilot projects in sustainability: It will be your responsibility to drive R&D by looking into new and untested technologies which could be used to benefit the environmental aims of this project.
  • Carbon footprint assessment: Assessing the carbon footprint of a project is a good guide to understand the actual impact the development has on the immediate environment in the short and long term. You will assess the carbon footprint of each phase of the project and find innovative ways to reduce this.
  • Research and grants: Lead the acquisition of grants to help offset costs of internal research & development.

skills and experience required

  • Relevant qualifications in Environmental Engineering or related fields will be considered acceptable for this role.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience would be required to fulfill the responsibilities of this role, with 6 years spent working on Greenmark Certification for large development projects
  • Greenmark Manager (GMM) or Greenmark Professional (GMP) certification would add significant merit to your application.
