about the company
One of the biggest technology service provider companies in the trading industry is looking for an experienced Employment Counsel to join the APAC legal team to handle and support internal HR related matters.

about the job

Generally, your job scope entails giving advice on all internal employment related matters, and supporting the HR team in managing disputes which related to the employment including those contentious and non-contentious across APAC region. You are required to manage disputes and litigation matters on employee misconduct issues, conducting investigation or mediation, liaising with external counsels or other third parties on people related matters. You are also expected to implement and develop HR policies for the company, and provide necessary training for the internal staff. It is also part of the job scope to monitor and follow up on latest updates of employment laws, working closely with other colleagues on matters related to commercial, mergers and acquisitions as well as compliance matters. In addition, it is also important to build up a good relationship with the internal stakeholders, and provide support, training and advice to them regarding the employment issues. You will also need to work closely with the regional teams in order to support other legal functions as a whole. You will need to provide administrative support as well in relation to legal contracts drafting, corporate documents or managing billings.

skills and experience required
You are called to the Singapore Bar or common law jurisdiction with at least 7 PQE handling employment related matters both transactional and disputes related work. It is advantageous if you have experience managing employment matters in different regions of APAC, and possessing strong interpersonal skills in order to build and maintain good relationships with colleagues worldwide. In-house experience or anyone working in the law firms specialising in employment laws are both welcome. Ability to speak Mandarin is preferred but not mandatory in order to liaise with counterparts based in China and Hong Kong.
