- Manage procurement on assigned project basis.
- Responsible for the application of commercial agreements and related work processes
- Issue supplier purchase orders using requisitions generated by the MRP system
- Maintain and manage the vendor management systems ( eg. SCM STAR, PEGA)
- Resolve process or supplier-related issues as escalated from the Projects, Businesses, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, and engineering
- Develop and execute improvements to existing work processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain basic knowledge of suppliers and relevant market developments such as mergers & acquisitions,financial status, and changes in key personnel
- Validate and optimize purchase prices and prepare tender requests
- Help process and resolve accounts payable exceptions
skills & experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in electrical / mechanical / mechatronics engineering or equivalent
- Min 5 years in procurement / purchasing in a commercial / construction/ engineering environment
- Basic Purchasing fundamentals (supplier relations, contracts, bid analysis)
- Procurement work process
- Purchasing policies
- Negotiation strategies and tactics
- Able to commence immediately or within short notice period
