finance manager / financial controller in Singapore

Long standing history with strong branding in the market. This US listed Chemical Giant has been growing in the last few years both organically and inorganically. Their regional office is in Singapore, located strategically at the central part of Singapore. They are hiring for a strong Regional Finance Manager for their APAC office.

About the role

Reporting to the Asia Regional Controller, you will be playing a key role in managing the record to report, statutory reporting, internal control, legal entity financial forecasting and budgeting. You will also be managing the tax reporting and compliance for the Singapore entity. In this role, you will work closely with the global team as well as the Shared service in China to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the financial close. You will review the commentaries on the fluctuations and manage the internal as well as the external audits . You will ensure timely preparation and audit of the financial statements and monitor performance of key controls for SOX requirements. You will monitor and ensure financial compliance including adherence to financial policies, local and US GAAP. You will be managing the legal entity financial forecasting and budgeting which includes partnering closely with the supply chain, FP&A and tax to ensure timeliness of the forecast changes. You will review the monthly financial results forecast and analyse the gaps and identify the key drivers. You will also ensure timely submission of the working capital and cash flow forecasts. In this role, you will take charge of the tax reporting and compliance. That includes the review of legal entity tax computations, deferred tax assessments and other quarterly submissions, You will ensure the timeliness of the tax (direct and indirect) tax filings and manage all the relevant queries. You will also be involved in the finance projects that the company is embarking.

skills and experience required

You should ideally possess an accounting, finance or economics degree from a reputable university with at least 10 years of relevant experience. You possess strong analytical and communication skills. You are meticulous and possess strong business acumen. You are able to work independently and are comfortable working with all levels in the organisation. You must have experience using SAP. Prior experience working in a big 4 will come as a strong advantage for this role.
