Our client is a well established group in China. They have branched out their operations to Singapore for the past few years, engaging in wide varieties of businesses like steel manufacturing as well as properties and hospitality. They are renowned for their stability and strong management over the years. Our client is looking for a Group Financial Controller to join their finance division and continue developing this high performing team.

about the job

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a high-visibility role in which you will manage a large finance team, ensuring that all statutory financial reporting, audit, tax, cash management are handled in an efficient and accurate manner and in accordance to Group policy and all statutory requirements. You will work cross-functionally with several internal and external stakeholders (FP&A team, Shared Services, Tax and Treasury team, internal and external auditors, tax advisors, bank officers, etc.) to drive changes that will create positive impacts for the team and the overall organization. As a key member of the management team, you will frequently be involved in strategic decisions to influence business policies.

As the group is constantly expanding, there would be exciting M&A projects for you to be involved in throughout the whole process. Your experience in handling M&A before will be very value-adding.

skills and experience required

To be successful in this role, you should be a strong business partner equipped with the following skills and experience:

  • Degree in Accountancy / ACCA
  • At least 10 years' relevant accounting and finance experience, including a good proportion of that in leadership roles
  • M&A experience would be preferred
  • Able to speak and write Mandarin in order to liaise with Chinese counterparts who primarily converse in Mandarin
