about the job
- Define the objectives of governance and ensure clearly articulated outcomes
- Setup and rollout data governance framework with clear timelines
- Defining policies and standards, principles, governance metrics and processes and Influence organization behaviour
- Identify stakeholders and establish roles and responsibilities to operationalise policies and processes
- Serve as a liaison between business and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are well established
- Develop & maintain domain maps, and catalogue of key data repositories and their owners
- Define key metrics for governance to ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
- Manage and co-ordinate all key issues and escalations around data governance
skills and experience required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a major financial services organization, with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience running data governance function OR part of the governance team in a large financial services organisation
- Good knowledge of data governance industry practices and trends
- Good understanding of business and technology issues related to management of data, specifically around metadata and quality management
- Good understanding of the information management practices including data life cycle management, data modelling, master data management
