Currently they are looking for Head of Quantity Surveying to lead the cost management services in Singapore. This role offers the potential candidate significant opportunity to affect real growth and development of their service offering in Singapore. Our client is an agile business with minimal red tape and a culture of rapid decision making.
The position will report directly to our country lead and will be responsible for leading a team of cost consultants, identifying and developing new and repeat business, delivering excellent service to our clients, and delivering to agreed budgetary targets.

- Leading service delivery to maximise the impact
- Managing the delivery of work won, both through hands-on involvement where appropriate and through management of personnel within the team
- Strengthening service delivery capability and championing knowledge capture, sharing and innovation
- Assuming full responsibility for cost management budget setting, as well as regular reviews of income and costs against budget
- Undertaking responsibility for the management of division cashflow and profitability and providing regular forward budget and income projections
- Enhancing the reputation of the business
- Upskilling, coaching and mentoring team members
- Participating in relevant internal/external training initiatives
- Being accountable for internal business unit commercial management including resource planning and fee agreements, performance management, P&L, as well as career development of the team
- Working effectively with all project consultants and staff to ensure the client briefs are being met and are performing in accordance with contract requirements
- Training, mentoring and delegating project tasks while maintaining full project control
skills & experience required
- Degree in a construction-related discipline
- Member of the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
- A minimum of 10 years’ cost management experience
- Previous experience in medium to large practices/contractors/developers/clients with exposure to diverse projects
- Experience managing a team or leadership experience is required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to further develop management skills
- Sound technical background
- Ability to work under pressure to meet the changing and diverse demands of a busy major practice
- Proven ability to lead marketing and business development
- Professional attitude to work, business and appearance
- Ability to take on a leadership role across a number of simultaneous projects
- Ability to manage a number of company employees and/or contractors
