Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop, update, and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Compliance Oversight:
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and update internal policies and procedures accordingly.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the bank's operations, processes, and systems.
- Develop and implement measures to mitigate identified risks and maintain an effective risk management framework.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present regular compliance reports to senior management and the board of directors, highlighting key compliance issues, trends, and recommendations.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance and internal controls across the organization.
skills and experience required
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in an internal control and/or risk management and/or compliance function within a Bank
- In-depth knowledge of relevant banking laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
