Our client is a Financial Institution looking to recruit a Legal & Compliance VP to provide in-house advice and expertise on a broad range of legal and compliance topics. This role has direct visibility to senior management and you can expect to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment that keeps challenging you.
about the job
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Provide sound, coherent and commercially minded legal and compliance advice on all matters relating to the organisation’s day-to-day activities
- Work closely with management and internal stakeholders to structure, draft and negotiate on a host of legal documentation, agreements, contracts and manage the documentation process
- Review and provide recommendations on the legal and compliance aspects and considerations for the development and deployment of new products and services as well as new business initiatives
- Ensure the business is operating in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including AML/KYC requirements, data protection laws, and financial regulations
skills and experience required
- Bachelors of Law degree from a reputable institution
- Qualified lawyer with minimum 7 years PQE in private practice (corporate finance) and/or in house legal within a Private Equity (PE)/ Venture Capital
- Experience in a fintech or start-up environment as well experience in the formation of funds will be highly advantageous
- Independent and self-motivated with excellent stakeholder management
