about the job
You will be responsible to provide secretarial and legal support to the Partner of the firm, while managing office operations and handling reception duties. As the sole administrative staff in the firm, you will be seated at the reception desk to attend to any guests, manage courier services and liaising with external service providers, including cleaners and IT vendors. You will be expected to extend great secretarial support to the Partner - staying a few steps ahead of the Partner's work schedule to schedule client meetings, processing all expense claims, and organising travel arrangements to multiple destinations. This incumbent will need to be proficient in providing legal secretarial support to prepare and categorise legal documents for hearings, conducting conflict checks, drafting and proofreading correspondences, as well as keeping track of internal and external deadlines. Extending support to the other lawyers on an adhoc basis, working closely with colleagues in Europe, and the planning and delivery of client events for the firm, will also be expected of this role.
about the manager/team
You will be reporting to the Partner, and will communicate frequently with counterparts based in Europe.
skills and experience required
The ideal candidate should be tertiary educated and come with at least 5 years of experience in a legal secretarial role with an international or offshore law firm, preferably with prior experience in supporting a Partner. You should have good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and follow up on your tasks effectively. Being resourceful and proactive, along with the flexibility to learn and manage additional responsibilities, will contribute to your success in this role.
