My client is a leading financial services company and is hiring a permanent position of a Linux System Engineer (Redhat, Ubuntu, Azure) as an integral part of their expansion plans.

This is a permanent night shift role*

Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, your responsibilities include:

• Performing system administration tasks for UNIX and Linux (Ubuntu, Redhat) environments
• Building Virtual machine and Virtual network on Azure
• Perform management & monitoring activities in Linux environment, including up-time optimisation, configuration, version upgrades, performance monitoring and maintenance to ensure the correct functioning and maintenance of production systems
• Conducting system backups according to company or industry standards
• Monitoring system performance to prevent slowdowns and crashes
• Working closely with other developers to answer technical questions or resolve issues with server-side performance

skills and experience required

As a successful candidate, you will need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in Linux and Ubuntu OS development, administration, packaging, scripting
• Proficiency on the Linux command line
• Exposure to automation tools such as Kubernetes etc
• Good experience with Azure Virtual machine, virtual network and storage
• Hands on experience with network configuration, AD authentication, remote storage, storage performance and log investigation.
• Candidates from FSI background will have added advantage.
