You will be part of the Market Risk Management & Control team that is responsible for daily control and assessment of market risk as well as Profit & Loss (P&L) of Trading teams.

about the role
- Calculate and report market risk and P&L for the Trading teams
- Ensure timely submission of daily P&L, VaR and Risk reports
- Perform Market Risk control and analysis which includes monitoring positions and risks against limits granted
- Calculate and report liquidity risk, as well as monitoring of gap limits
- Analyse and calculate independent valuation adjustments and reserves
- Ensure excesses are rectified and/or escalated
- Backtest the VaR and explain outliers
- Provide analysis and commentaries of results to local management and Head Office
- Identify risk drivers and ensure systems are in place for data capture and accurate reporting of market price risk and P&L
- Keep track of market developments and their impacts on Trading strategy
- Prepare and sit in for monthly risk meetings with the Front Office and Finance teams
- Participate in internal projects
- Assist Supervisor with review and approval of one-off and/or new product proposal and limit requests
skills and experience required
- Minimum Degree in Banking, Finance, Mathematics or related discipline
- At least 3 years of Market Risk, Product Control and/or Valuation Control experience
- Good knowledge of financial products including pricing possibilities
- Understanding of Value at Risk concept
- Excellent communications and critical thinking skills
- Meticulous and analytical
- Advanced Excel skills, including VBA Macros
