This role is responsible for providing global legal and advisory support, risk & compliance, corporate governance, and corporate secretarial services to the firm and its subsidiaries. The incumbent has to provide advice and recommendations to stakeholders and internal business units as necessary on a range of Corporate Affairs matters.
- Conduct contract review and legal research
- Advising and interacting with relevant internal stakeholders and external counsels on matter specific topics
- Take a leadership role with compliance initiatives by ensuring that the firm remains compliant with all applicable regulations and maintain appropriate and effective corporate governance
- Assist with initiatives and projects, including providing training and education to internal business partners

This role reports to the Corporate Affairs Counsel based in the US.
skills and experience required
- May require limited travel and some conference calls outside of typical office hours.
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies
- More than 6 years of experience in a compliance or company governance / secretarial position, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector; or working as a paralegal in a litigation intensive environment
- The ability to perform electronic legal research
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, manage several projects and work under a tight schedule
- Detail oriented
