Currently they are looking for Principal Consultant, MEP Design (Electrical) to be based in Singapore with frequent travel of not more than 50% per tax year required.You will provide Data Center design engineering, project leadership and management of Hyper-Scale DATA CENTER Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) system planning, design and construction. As a subject matter expert for Data Center design and construction, you will provide the standards and competency for Data Center design and innovation.A typical project at the company is a 18MW IT load, 20,000m2 GFA building, greenfield data center construction with design and construction timeline around 30 months.about the jobDesign Engineering Serve as Lead/Support MEP design engineering project manager for data center design and construction. Emphasis on design optimization.Responsible for guiding and working with MEP Consulting Engineers seconded to the project.Responsible for guiding and working with General Contractor Design team leading the project.Responsible for attending and leading weekly Design Review meetings with the General Contractor and Company’s 3rd Party Consultants.Responsible for attending and leading scheduled Tenant Design Review calls/meetings.Lead/Support verification, validation, confirmation of Mechanical and Electrical Design Works.Responsible to ensure the detailed design plans meet the Tenant BTS (built to suit) specifications.Responsible to ensure the detailed design plans meet Company’s overall BOD design requirements.Responsible to review detailed Mechanical and Electrical design plans at the 30/60/90 Phases.Responsible to review and lead discussion with 3rd Party Peer Review consultant. TeamworkWork closely with other assigned design engineers to the project.Work closely with assigned Project Manager, Cost Manager, and Construction Manager.Assist Program Manager in monthly design works status report. Tenant ManagementResponsible to Lead/Support the 30/60/90 Stage Detailed Design Review with Tenant.Lead/Support Tenant Design Change Order process during the Design/Construction Phase.Assist, as needed, in the technical qualification review process with Tenant. Company and GovernanceReport to and/or work closely with the Head of Data Center Design & Construction.Work with Project Manager to produce Monthly Project Status Report for management review.Ensure Project is successfully executed and delivered on time and on budget and is in compliance with the BOD / BTS Specifications, Tenant requirements, building and Data Center Standards and requisite local codes and regulation.Implement risk management initiatives and maintain the Risk Register up to date.Highlight risks or issues to Company’s Management for pre-emptive actions and decisions.Support/lead initiatives to improve Company’s Engineering Processes, Documentation and Data Center Innovation.skills & experience requiredQualified degree in Electrical EngineeringPrior experience in technical design or construction experience of critical infrastructure facilities.Work experience at local top tier general contractors, architectural design firms or equivalent preferred.Prior data center design or construction experience highly desired, but not necessary.Ability to read and understand Basis of Design (BOD) documentation.Ability to read and understand Technical Design Requirements & Specifications.Ability to review and understand Basic and Detailed Design Construction Drawings.Ability to create, calculate, and lead Electrical and/or Mechanical Design Drawing discussions.Minimum (10) years’ experience in the relevant field.
