about the company
Our client is a large ecommerce company which has regional presence in APAC

They are looking for a dedicated Product Manager to focus on improve Search relevance and recommendations, or Payments, for the app across the countries operating within the region

about the role
As a Product Manager, you are responsible for:

  • Improving search relevance and recommendation performance for the region
  • Managing a team of about 5 across South East Asia to improve product search relevance; by building knowledge dictionaries, identifying root cases of search relevance issues, and providing data-driven insights
  • Coordinate with commercial teams on providing search feedback
  • Drive quality engineering solutions and architectural designs, with pragmatism and balance between speed and over-engineering
  • Ensure high product quality (end user thinking)
  • Maintaining reports and providing insights for search and recommendation performance, and presenting to the relevant stakeholders

skills and experience required

  • Bachelor/Masters in Engineering / Business / Economics or related field
  • More than 3 years of experience in ecommerce and must have experience working on Search and Recommendations product, working closely with the tech, product and data team
  • Technical leadership experience: can delve into technical architectural decisions and explain tradeoffs; able to communicate with key Computer Science concepts
  • Believes in meritocracy of ideas; rejects hierarchical decision-making; drives team consensus; breaks analysis-paralysis by planning reasonable execution paths; when needed, able to disagree and commit
  • Ability to identify market opportunities, build business cases, and define product vision and strategy
  • Able to define metrics to measure, track and do performance reporting on the impact to the business.
  • Hands on experience using SQL, proficient in Microsoft in Excel and PowerPoint
