about the job

They are currently looking for a Project Engineer / Project Manager as part of their Project department role.

Responsibilities include:

  • As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the co-ordination, supervision and execution of projects for the implementation of our UPS systems in Singapore and Asia Pacific to the correct regulatory requirements and installation standards.
  • You will liaise with customers, consultants, clerks-of-work and statutory authorities on matters concerning the progress of work, acceptance and approvals to meet the projects milestones.
  • You will work together with the project engineers as well as the company’s overseas project managers.
  • You must have eye for details for the scope of supply, time and quality.
  • You must have strong communicative skills and persuasive technique.
  • Conflict handling and strong problem solving skills are a must.
  • As a Project Manager you also must be able to understand international trading like the Incoterms as well need to be able to work within the project contractual obligations.
  • You need to be able to find solutions for conflicts and must have a highly result driven attitude. You need to be an independent thinker, decision maker and require little supervision. Multitasking on several projects at the same time and coping with deadline pressure will be no issue for you.
  • You will report to the Operations Manager

skills and experience required

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar industry including UPS, Diesel Engine, or Power generator.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
  • Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management and change management.
  • Good leadership skill and experience in leading a multicultural and diverse-functional team.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision in mission critical environment.
  • Strong & effective communication skills.
