about the role
- Review, analyse and manage operational risk of regional offices through operational errors and risk control self-assessments etc, as well as providing recommendations to mitigate and/or prevent them
- Provide Business Continuity Management (BCM) support through addressing operational concerns and providing recommendations to mitigate operational risk from a BCM perspective
- Analyse operational workflow and processes, identify potential lapses and provide recommendations to close up these gaps
- Analyse, compile and prepare reports for Head Office in Japanese
- Organise forums and training sessions relating to Operational Risk and BCM
- Assist overseas offices in pre-audit preparation and review their operational processes to confirm adequacy of internal controls
skills and experience required
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Knowledge of Banking Operations including Trade Finance, Loans, Treasury, Remittance, Deposits etc
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese required as you are expected to read documents in Japanese as well as liaise and communicate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders on a regular basis
- May be required to travel to APAC region on an occasional basis
