Regional Merchandising Lead - Asia Pacifc

  • Regional within the FMCG - consumer appliances / small domestic appliances
  • Up to SG$130,000 fixed annual salaries, excluding allowances and bonuses

Job description

Reporting to the Regional MD based in SG, you will spearhead the strategy of the Merchandising & product / pricing assortment strategy for the Asia Pacfic market. You will collaborate with both regional & global product teams to define product roadmap, new product development ideas and market launch reviews, i.e MLR process, competitor sets. You are responsible for product roadmap for your assigned markets and be accountable to define & deliver business case inputs based on market understanding/insights, regional assumption and size of price in market. You will have a deep understanding of Asia markets & its dynamic.

Working closing with 1 direct report based in SG, you are will oversee the the pricing strategy for assigned regions by collaborating with business lead to drive product & channel profitability

  • Launch Planning : Standard approach to enable collaboration with cross functional teams (pricing/promo/channel)
  • Performance tracking in the 12-month post launch period
  • Plan & optimize market launch resource & prioritization
  • Oversee the product launches end-to-end by working closely with regional & global marketing/product team to ensure successful launches
  • Product Portfolio : Oversee the plan to sell based on regional strategy and be responsible for product growth by tracking & monitoring performance & devise plans to improve
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams & individual to implement go to market strategy by segmentation target, core value and point of difference
  • Promo: Develop promo framework & strategy that leverage country, trade investments and own the product portfolio to match channel strengths and develop plans to drive product growth
  • Collaborate with context for product initiatives (includes market/competitive intelligence tracking, industry research, subject matter expert in category)
  • Develop retail pricing*, adjusted across channel also in total Asia pricing structure for customer
    experience optimization
    Pricing Promo: Create value chain structure to fit in regional margin guideline
    ● Lead standardized price approval process, promotional tools
    ● Business acumen, data analysis, strong commercial & financial skill set
  • Track existing sell-in/sell-out data on focused and NPD and create success stories to enable effective plan-to-sell (Key selling point, training materials..)
  • Day in day out category management (promo approval, phase-in-phase-out plan)
  • Own the category P & L & analysis by working with cross functional team
  • Drive consistent overall channel & E-commerce channel business case analysis & plan-to-sell, improve

The successful applicant

  • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or related discipline
  • Minimum 8-10 years of commercial sales experience and experience in finance / marketing / merchandising role coming from the FMCG sector in a regional ASIA capacity
  • Excellent Commercial & relationship building skills and strong in numbers, i.product costing, pricing analysis
  • Hands on experience / entrepreneurial individual
