about the company

Our client is a global leading supplier of plastic, foam and packaging products with a presence in over 30 countries with over 50 sales and distribution operations worldwide. Looking to continue driving their business forward within the region, they are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to support growth for their Consumer Packaging product portfolio business in the region. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding specific markets, developing business and sales strategies and ensuring continued success within the region.

about the job

In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the Sales Director of Packaging, Asia, to devise and implement sales strategies, directly leading to revenue growth for their Packaging business in the APAC region. The key markets covered will include the Health/Personal Care, Consumer Packaging and Tobacco industry. Some of the core duties of this crucial role include:

  • Growing new business in Asia across targeted segments while developing current key accounts
  • Business Planning: Understanding current market landscape and competitor’s offerings to develop key commercial plans to manage the territory
  • “Hunting” for new business throughout the new region and bringing in new sales for the region
  • Maintaining and penetrating existing and new customers through innovative sales strategies and methods
  • Supporting the strategic marketing of individual products with the management team
  • Keeping effective business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; communicating with key decision makers to achieve sales targets to remain the leading player in market

skills and experience required

To qualify for this critical and dynamic growth role, you will have at least 5 years of strong B2B sales track record. Additionally, you will ideally possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology related fields
  • Commercial mindset with technical awareness
  • Excellent ‘hunting’ ability, with strong sales planning and management skills
  • Outstanding communication skills and able to work autonomously
  • Strong record in driving sales of technical / industrial products
  • Comfortable working with senior leadership and prior experience managing in a matrix environment
  • Willingness to travel intensely within the region
