about the job

You will be an instrumental leader in the Asia Pacific research & development (R&D) team, designing novel molecular diagnostic platforms and developing IVD assays. You will report to your R&D Director, and build a team of research scientists based in Singapore. You will:

  • Assess new technologies and novel molecular diagnostic platforms
  • Develop product concepts aligned with customer requirements, conduct feasibility study and define product specifications that meet strategic business needs
  • Design and execute multi-disciplinary research / development activities driven by project goals; ensure that product design can be validated and meets CFDA / CE requirements
  • Manage projects and guide research activities based on experimental results and new scientific findings
  • Take charge of technical transfer of prototype product and documentation to Development and/or Manufacturing

skills and experience required

  • MSc or PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or related fields
  • 3 years+ product development experience within IVD industry
  • Demonstrated technical excellence in infectious disease, prenatal or tumor diagnostics fields
  • Strong background in molecular biology, with proven expertise in assay development on real-time PCR
  • Profound knowledge of multiplexed detection assay (Liquid-array, micro-array) and Next-generation Sequencing
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
