about the job

  • Responsible for the performance and development of the Surgical & Medical Device Department.

  • Prepares action plans by individuals as well as the team for effective search of sales leads and prospects

  • Managing Key Accounts, building client relationships and consistently achieving sales targets on desired products

  • To identify new area/products for sales development and increase market share for respective territories

  • Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications and tenders

  • Manage financial budgets and co-work with internal support teams to manage customer satisfaction and optimum productivity

  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance

  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

  • Building and retaining client relationships through continuous follow up with clients for their requirements

  • Create marketing plans geared toward end users for each key product within portfolio, in line with strategy and targets and within budget.

  • Liaise with Events Coordinator to maximise visibility at conferences, including compiling a list of products and literature to display/demo, producing delegate inserts, etc.

  • Where appropriate, attend key conferences to manage booth and be a specialist in market intelligence discussions

  • Perform market research to assess viability of potential new surgical products and to measure success of recent campaigns

  • To propose sales strategy and set targets for subsidiaries and subsequently ensure the plans are executed accordingly

  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.

skills and experience required

  • Degree in Business / Management or equivalent

  • At least 3 years working experience in the medical device or healthcare industry would be ideal

  • Proven managerial experience with direct reporting lines would be an added advantage

  • Highly motivated, independent and resourceful

  • Good problem solving and decision making skills

  • Presentable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
