They are hiring a newly created permanent position of Senior Data Engineer (Azure, ETL). The objective is to lead efforts to enhance data capabilities, from collecting and managing raw data to translating it into actionable insights for analysts and scientists. This role involves refining data processing tools, implementing rigorous testing, and improving reporting and advanced analytics in a dynamic data environment.

Reporting to the Head of Data, your role involves:
- Leading the end-to-end implementation of the Data Platform's data orchestration - designing the data flow, configuring the necessary systems, overseeing data transformation processes, and ensuring that data moves seamlessly from its source to its destination within the platform.
- Developing and optimizing data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using Microsoft Azure, leveraging tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Stream Analytics etc, to ensure efficient data population in the reporting database.
- Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy and stability of data pipelines through monitoring and management.
- Architecting, building, and deploying the data platform to enable intuitive analytics across the organization.
- Establishing and enhancing a robust Data governance framework.
- Establishing a DevOps environment for efficient data engineering projects.
skills and experience required
As a successful candidate, you should have:
- Experience in implementing end-to-end data orchestration within the Azure Data Platform
- Experience in building and optimizing data pipelines using Azure ETL tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Stream Analytics
- Experience in designing and deploying data platforms for intuitive analytics, supporting various data use cases including batch analysis, real-time analytics, and data science
- Experience in Data governance frameworks
- Experience in implementing DevOps platforms, frameworks, and tools is a good to have
- Experience in SQL and Python
