about the job

The Field Service Engineer is responsible to perform testing, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of UPS and it’s related products and services in Singapore.

Reporting to Department Manager - UPS, the engineer is to work within the service team to provide post-sales service support to customers through maintenance and 24X7 service call support and assist the Sales Team with day to day pre-sales support

Responsibilities include:

  • To conduct workshop and field repair of the complete range of the Company’s power protection products.
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance, test and commissioning of the complete range of the Company’s power protection products.
  • Workshop and field battery replacement for the complete range of the Company’s power protection products.
  • To provide service support including on site attendance for third party system that are related to company’s UPS business and data centre business.
  • Written, verbal and telephone support of all of the Company’s internal and external customers.
  • To provide 24 X 7 customer support through telephone and site attendance.
  • To provide coordination and project management for the installation, delivery and contracts management of customer’s purchase orders and requirement.
  • To ensure that they keep themselves and their associated company assets in a safe, secure and presentable condition at all times.
  • To ensure the timely and accurate completion of all departmental, company and appropriate customer paperwork and administration documents.
  • To ensure that they are always suitably well trained on the company’s products.
  • Appropriate and professional response to all requests for assistance (whether “on-call” or not).

skills and experience required

To succeed in this role you must have the following skills & experience;

  • Electrical Degree with at least 4 years’ relevant experience, or Diploma in Electrical with min 6 years’ of relevant experience.
  • Possess experience in service, maintain and repair of electrical capital goods, ideally in a power protection related industry.
  • Must have experience in the delivery of excellent customer service and pre-sales support as well as project management.
  • Must be comfortable and competent working in a customer service oriented culture.
