Our client is a highly reputable EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor and solutions provider to the Offshore Oil & Gas industry. They’re on a look out for a highly competent and technically strong Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team to support their projects. This is a Fixed Term contract of 24 months.
about the job
- Understands requirements for mechanical components and equipment (such as compressors, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, pumps etc.) of the assigned projects
- Independently develops technical specifications that are part of Requisitions.
- Independently evaluates the technical and engineering aspects as well as issues related to components delivery of bids received from suppliers
- Executes orders for complex/medium risk packages by ensuring that documents (such as data sheets, drawings etc.) provided by the suppliers are complete, accurate and in order.
- Be the focal point in respect of those packages handled, coordinates with various internal stakeholders, other discipline engineers, quality team, Engineering contractors and suppliers, ensuring that their needs are met timely and according to the specifications.
- Periodically visits suppliers, checks and tests the packages and their components to ensure that they function as per specifications.
- Provides technical support and advice to Construction/Commissioning work at site, troubleshoots and follows up with suppliers to rectify problems.
- Resolves technical issues independently that may arise during the execution of packages handled, and takes part in HAZOP workshop related to the assigned package
- Responsible for capturing lessons learned in his/her functional area, entering in MIMS, and closing out project related MIMS actions.
- Guides junior Engineers
- Specify the package requirements, evaluate suppliers, deliver the packages according to specifications on time
job requirement
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas/petrochemical sector.
- Must have experience in dealing with various types of rotating equipment or marine equipment
- Expert knowledge in the application of mechanical components such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, Generators etc and market practices in the oil and gas sector.
