This global leading textile organization has recorded impressive year-on-year growth in recent years and are now expanding their businesses across the APAC region. In conjunction with record revenue and sales across all their brands and franchise, they are aware of the importance of service levels in Singapore hence seeking for a stellar Senior Merchandiser to join their current team
about the job
In this role, the incumbent will nevertheless ensure continuous inflow of orders in a strategic manner, monitor end to end processes within the organization, implement project best practices and assume leadership roles in the merchandising team. In addition to that, he or she will:
  • manage ongoing order progress together with the team ordering progress alongside the ssistant Merchandiser and Merchandiser
  • communicate and work closely with buyers in the EU region on a regular basis
  • develop the business and new product categories in textiles/fabric etc
  • evaluate and manage factories for continuous business development
  • work closely with QA, QC department and logistics department
  • have frequent travel to factories & headquarter for coordination of business
  • work with cross functional teams and manage stakeholders in audit, accounting, finance etc
  • manage sourcing initiatives, quotations, price analysis and price negotiations between buyer and supplier
  • responsible for order negotiation and order placement between buyer and supplier
  • ensure a smooth order process, stock allocation and come up with solutions for business initiatives
  • conduct market research and manage the teams daily operation
about the manager/team
You will report in to the Merchandising Director, have potential reporting lines and have the privilege to work very closely with cross functional business units touching base on their wide variety of brands within the business
skills and experience required
  • Bachelor Degree or Higher Diploma Graduate
  • At least 6 years of Merchandising and sourcing experience in a retail/FMCG environment
  • Understanding of apparel materials, design and textiles would be an advantage
  • Experience in a team management role
  • Posses strong project management skills
  • Independent, results orientated, flexible and strong sense of responsibilities
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to travel
