- Actively involved in tendering by working closely with various department.
- Overall in charge of the project once secured. When necessary, assume the roles and responsibilities of Project Manager for cases in the absence of Project Manager.
- Work with PM to plan construction method, sequence, temporary facilities, manpower, plants and machinery to formulate Project Construction Methodology for the entire project to get approval by Top Management.
- Work with PM and other relevant departments to finalise the construction budget for approval by Top Management.
- Review Project Quality Plan (PQP) and ensure all works carried out according to Project Quality Plan (PQP).
- Work with PM to set KPI for each project and that for the staff in the project.
- Ensure monthly progress report is prepared by PM(s) on timely
- Ensure project team meets project KPIs.
- Oversee site works and activities.
- Main driver in leading WSHE, quality, cost and time.
- Ensure efficient use of resources, proper coordination and delegation of works to successfully complete the project.
- Review and implement value engineering and cost-saving proposals.
- Authorisation of site purchase and rental (DOA).
- Attending all meetings with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Conduct joint site inspections with PM and site team to improve work efficiency and attest any weak work practices.
- Be a mentor by providing proper guidance and sharing of ideas to the project teams.
- To ensure site team comply with client & regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the project team maintains proper records / information to substantiate all variation orders and or Extension of Time claims and submissions.
- Ensure the project team keeps proper records / correspondence for finalization of the project.
- Ensure cohesiveness of staff and maintain team spirit.
- To ensure that a Project BIM Execution Plan is formulated in accordance to Corporate BIM Execution Plan and monitor the implementation.
skills & experience required
- Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant qualification.
- Able to handle large and complex projects or able to oversee multiple projects.
- Familiar with authority submissions and regulatory requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of BIM
- Minimum 15 years of working experience in the construction industry with at least 8 years of working experience working as Project Manager.
