    My client is a market and technology leader in the hard drive industry with approximately 60% of all magnetic disk media produced worldwide. They are also a recognised leading developer of advanced high-sensitivity digital sensors, cameras and systems that primarily serve the defense industry.

    about the job

    • Lead, drive and execute Procurement initiatives for managed commodities to achieve cost saving and ensure assurance of supply
    • Identify, select and develop supply base to support both existing and new products
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers
    • Generate and issue Purchase Orders for assigned suppliers/ commodities based on MRP requirements
    • Work with suppliers on material scheduling to support manufacturing build plan
    • Follow up with suppliers on material quality issues and replacement
    • Manage suppliers to achieve competitive cost, lead-time, quality and delivery performance
    • Work with cross functional teams to resolve issues pertaining to materials purchase
    • Collaborate with Quality team in supplier audit

    skills & experience required

    • Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Manufacturing Engineering
    • Min 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in high mix low volume Contract Manufacturing or Equipment Build industry
    • Possess local and regional supply market knowledge for sourcing Electrical Assemblies and Fabrication components (Machining, Structure and Sheet Metal)
    • Understand Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) systems
    • Knowledge of SAP will be advantageous
    • Ability to travel if required
