My client, a leading consultancy firm, is hiring a permanent position of Solution Architect for HTOC, 999, SPF Operations System and Crisis Management System. This will be an integral part of their expansion plans.

about the job
As the Solution architect, your job responsibilities include:

  • Researching, analyzing, designing, and delivering Enterprise architecture that are appropriate for the business.
  • Providing hands-on management of all efforts to support, resolve and document issues that arise in the architecture.
  • Serving as a Trusted Adviser, driving conversations and collaborating with other team members to review designs and recommend improvements to the architecture.
  • Leading the team to set the architectural direction, long-term vision and guiding principles.
  • Prototyping concepts and solutions showcasing a concept and idea to key stakeholders.
  • Working with the development team to review existing architecture and suggest improvements, clearly articulating both business and technical implications of various options.
  • Troubleshooting key customer implementation issues and demonstrating the ability to drive to successful resolution.
  • Reviewing and correcting project/program direction, approach, and key artifacts to keep programs on track and solutions extendable and maintainable going forward.

skills and experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or other relative Technical Degree
  • At least 10 years experience as a Solution Architect
  • At least 8 years experience leading the system design, including large enterprise solutions that integrate multiple systems.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in providing new solution development and driving enterprise architecture design
  • Prior experience in reference architecture definition.
  • Performance testing, data design, or security, is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation, are required; ability to tailor communications based on audience.
  • Excellent planning, interpersonal, influencing, and problem solving skills are required.
  • Proven track record of building influential relationships with internal customers; ability to influence across departmental lines without direct authority.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to motivate people & find common ground to achieve architecture objectives.
  • Requires technical understanding of TOGAF, Zachman or other architecture frameworks.
  • Knowledge and experience working delivering Ops Systems in Home Affairs and Defence industry.
  • Organizes and executes work to goals and end dates; demonstrates a sense of urgency based on the business need.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify and understand business needs and translate into strategic direction, plans and solutions.
  • Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Skilled at explaining technical concepts to a non-technical audiences.
