Our client is a successful and growing US MNC industry providing automation solutions for customers in commercial, industrial and residential markets. They are looking to hire a Sourcing & Purchasing Engineer (Mechanical) to join their team.

about the job

As a Sourcing & Purchasing Engineer (Mechanical) your key tasks involve:

  • Sourcing and managing 3rd party supplier products, services and on-time delivery per customer needs & ensures availability to support project MRO orders
  • Provides technical support in APAC reps and hubs/subs for interpretation & understanding of 3rd party suppliers’ material specifications
  • Involve in development and improvement of products, processes and material specifications as well as implementing action plans to improve Quality & Delivery performance of suppliers
  • Provides support in the implementation of Buyout Commodity Sourcing programs like Best Cost Country Sourcing, Cost Containment, Cost Reductions, e-Sourcing events and others
  • Responsible for timely issuance of Purchase Orders to suppliers and get Order Acknowledgement within the expected turn-around time
  • Work cohesively with various functional teams and with internal customers, and effectively communicate order status in a clear and timely manner, including improvement / delay of delivery from suppliers
  • Generating reports necessary for updating purchasing dashboard to track and maintain KPI’s, and conducts data analysis to assess supplier performances

skills & experience required

To be successful in this position, you must have the ability to demonstrate or possess:

  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of sourcing / purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic sales contract terms and conditions knowledge (e.g. incoterms, late delay penalty, payment terms, goods transfer of ownership)
  • Familiar with Mechanical Standards (e.g. ASME/ASTM, Norsok, ISO/EN).
  • Good knowledge in using Oracle will be highly desirable
