Managing and leading all development works providing technical guidance to the development team
Define development vision and strategy
Create strategies to leverage on or adapt technology to meet innovation initiatives needs and drive buy/build decisions.
Oversee the development and alignment of the development strategy to align development activities with Innovation Initiatives
Anticipate the impacts of internal and external business challenges and market conditions and incorporate risk management to development activities
Spearhead research and analyses on latest technologies and development methodology to continuously evolve and enhance development capabilities and efficiency
Managing and assessing sub-contractors proposals and deliveries. Fully responsible for ensuring performance of sub-contractors
Manage procurement needs and interface with procurement business unit
Design and implement performance measurements to track and monitor performance of development team
Ensure development activities are in full compliance with the company’s ethics and compliance, data governance and cybersecurity policies
Define regional MVC/Proof-of-Concept/Fast-Prototyping strategy
Conceptualizing, Designing and workload allocation to development team and contractors
Planning, monitoring and reporting of progress for all development projects undertaken by the APD team in the region
Develop strategies for development resource planning and utilization
Provides technical leadership to the development team and constantly challenging inputs from development team to deliver best in class software modules that are modular, reusable and highly customisable on time and on quality
Coaching, mentoring and enabling other developers
Oversee the motivation, learning and development of development team members
Establish performance indicators to benchmark team’s performance

Support the business teams to ensure that their needs are met with the most optimal and compliant infrastructure
Works closely with the local teams to get clear alignment and defined and approved development that can be used globally.
Be a part of the Agile development team as a development team lead
Participate and contribute to the team objectives in the Agile development process
Collaborate with peers from other teams to deliver best in class solutions.

skills and experience required

Bachelor/ Master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field
At least 8 years of development experience, with prior experiences in a team lead role
Strong hands-on experiences in NodeJS, React, Javascript, HTML5.
Experience of server-side development and database designs of SQL and NoSQL
Strong coding abilities using Java, Python and related frameworks
Strong knowledge on Python, PySpark, PySQL
Proven track record as software development lead across the entire development lifecycle
Experience in designing and implementing APIs, RESTful Web-services and SOAP-based Web-services
Strong experience in test automation and test-driven development methods
Working experience in Agile Scrum, SAFe and/or Kanban projects
DevOps orientation, knowledge of continuous integration frameworks and some of the following products/tools: Docker, Nexus, Artifactory, GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, VersionOne, Splunk, ElasticSearch, Ansible, etc.
Knowledge with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google) is a plus: building and deploying cloud solutions (AWS preferred)
Test automation knowledge (XUnit, Jira Xray, Postman, Cucumber, Selenium)
Proficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based data-objects, and data transformation pipelines.
Expert knowledge of Integration concepts, patterns and design.
Expertise in data analysis methodologies and processes and their linkages to other processes e.g. dimensional modeling.
Expert SQL Skills.
Experience with integration efforts (packaged and customized applications) from a data analysis perspective
