Based out of the Singapore office, this role will be responsible for the industry segments Coatings and Polymers in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and eventually others.
You will lead the implementation and execution of sales strategy for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region within the Polymers and Coatings industry. The role involves achieving annual volume and revenue targets by identifying and acquiring new customers, managing existing accounts, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. You will also be responsible for pricing management, conducting negotiations, and supporting customers with commercial and technical needs.
In addition to sales activities, you will analyze market trends, monitor competitive activities, and identify new business opportunities. You will play a key role in introducing new products and services, participating in trade shows, and ensuring that our market share grows. Regular reporting on market developments and potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A) opportunities is also required.
This role includes budgeting and planning responsibilities, such as preparing annual sales budget proposals and providing monthly sales forecasts. Strong relationship management, strategic thinking, and proficiency in CRM systems are essential. The position requires frequent travel within the APAC region and the ability to work closely with internal teams to drive business growth.
skills and experience required
Candidates should have either a technical education in relevant fields (Polymers, CASE) complemented by commercial skills or a commercial education with significant technical experience in Polymers or CASE. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Polymers or Coatings is required. Fluency in English is essential, with additional language skills, being advantageous.
The ideal candidate should have strong sales and commercial expertise, with the ability to provide basic technical support to customers' R&D departments, especially within the Polymers or CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, and Elastomers) industry. They should be a self-starter with a strong customer orientation, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team.
The role requires readiness to travel extensively throughout the APAC region, with a target of spending 50% of working time visiting customers.
