about the job

Purpose of the role: This is a dual function role. Service Application Engineering - To handle incoming requests for complex quotations and provide technical advice and support to the Account Managers in order to sell products/solutions and to achieve sales targets and sustainable customer satisfaction.


Main function: Service and Installation Is responsible for providing technical service such as trouble shooting, installation, commission, maintenance and repairing of power supply products and systems in order to ensure continuous function at the customer site and in compliance with quality and safety requirements.

  • Prepare sales quotations and technical drawings for the customers in coordination with the Service Business team.
  • Support with developing (technical) solutions in order to prepare a quotation for a customer.
  • Join and support the Service Business team during sales preparation, presentations to customers’ and/or negotiating processes.
  • Check final order and sales contract with initial quotation and clarify/solve any discrepancies.
  • Initiate preparation of technical documents (descriptions, drawings etc.) for the order to start production process.
  • Handle customer requests/questions about signed contracts and check changes against the agreed quotation.
  • Develop and maintain good internal working relationships with all departments.
  • Maintain good working relationship with regular customers; develop good working relationships with new customers.
  • Maintain efficient and reliable quotes administration

Field Service Engineering: To install, maintain, commission, trouble shoot and repair of power supplu systems in order to ensure continuous function of power supply systems at the customer site in compliance with quality and safety requirements.

  • Commissioning of both Industrial AC and DC power systems, battery maintenance, discharging and health checks. Timely completion and reporting of commissioning documents and relevant site paperwork. Use of I.T for uploading and downloading of configuration files.
  • Routine maintenance of UPS and battery systems. Timely completion and reporting of documents and relevant site paperwork. Us of I.T for uploading and downloading of configuration files.
  • To liaise with other departments and engineers to ensure site visits are carried out in a professional and safe manner.
  • Training of customers to use equipment and understand basic user functions.

skills and experience required

  • Diploma or Degree in Power Electronics or Electrical Power disciplines
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience within a relevant industry, completed with commercial experience
  • Good knowledge of industrial power systems products/applications/solutions
  • Good knowledge of assigned markets and customers
  • Understanding of commercial / contract law
  • Diagnostic and problem solving skills
  • Good base knowledge of PC (J Bus / Profibus / Modbus and other communication media) and programming skills
  • Must be willing to travel across Asia Pacific region including India, China and the Middle East. Some work may involve off shore. Candidates must have a flexible approach to travel at short notice, work irregular hours with well-developed customer care skill.
