Currently, they are looking for a high calibre Trade Finance and Credit Manager for their regional office.

about the job

Reporting to the Trade Finance and Credit Director, you will be responsible for the Trade Finance and Credit management operations. You will be required to build networks and maintain relationships with financial institutions/ credit agencies and ensure full compliance of all risk and regulatory policies. In this role, you will take part in the developing and structuring of Trade Finance solutions for markets. You will manage the LC confirmation and discounting process with the banks to ensure a stable and robust process. You will liaise with credit agencies and trading houses to minimise credit risk. You will build and maintain relationships with financial institutions, credit insurances companies and export credit agencies. You will negotiate with banks on interest rates and other terms. You will support and communicate with the markets on all trade financing and export credit related matters. You will guide and assist the credit application process with the markets and ensure delivery of high-quality proposals in a timely manner. You will think out of the box and develop trade finance solutions to support sales. You will also ensure compliance to risk policies, guidelines, internal controls and processes. Also, you will be responsible for assessing and maintaining the credit risk limits for importers with open credit terms. You will give recommendations and support on all credit related matters. You will also monitor the credit exposure and follow up on payments to minimise default risk. You will review and prepare credit support for the Credit Committee's approval.

skills and experience required

You should ideally possess an Accounting, Business, Finance or economics Degree from a reputable university. You possess at least 6 years of experience in credit management and trade financing. You possess a good knowledge of UCP600 and trade finance policies. You are experienced in risk analysis and have the ability to work with stakeholders in different countries. Ability to speak Japanese will come as a strong advantage for the role as this person has liaise with the Japanese stakeholders quite frequently.
