They are a huge trading group and some examples of their well-established and reputable trading desks in the market include futures and options, FX, agricultural commodities, energy, precious metals and hedge funds. The Singapore office has more than 100 headcount and is continually expanding.

about the job

The purpose of your role is to generate commission revenue, expand products and client coverage, and onboarding of new clients. As part of a growing sales team, the company is now investing in new talent without sales broking experience. As you will be required to take and pass MAS trading exams that will take about 6 to 9 months, you are not allowed to speak to clients until you are licensed. Therefore, your initial responsibilities are on the job training with senior colleagues as well as admin support to the trading desk. This includes assisting with clients onboarding paperwork, creating files and documents in the systems, and general assistance to the brokers. It is expected that you will be soliciting business from clients and bringing in sales revenue after 1 year into the job.

about the manager/team

You will be reporting to the Head of Listed Derivatives, who is a reputable and well-respected sales broker in Singapore and Asia. The teams under the Head have a total headcount of under 20.

skills & requirements for the job

You should be tertiary-educated, ideally with a Degree from a recognised University. As the exams to acquire your trading license will not be easy to pass, you will need to possess genuine interest in the financial services industry and have commitment to a long-term career in this industry. The hiring company will provide guidance and on the job training for you to acquire your license as soon as possible, but determination, personal drive and good attitude will be tools for you to succeed. The company is also open to cabin crew who are seeking a career change in financial services sales.
