about the company

We are partnering with the world's largest producer of renewable diesel refined from waste and residues. They are industry innovators in the introduction of renewable solutions to the aviation and plastics industries. We are seeking for Turnaround Lead to join our client’s rapidly expanding team in Singapore.

about the role

In your role, you will

  • Ensure Define, evaluate and manage turnaround goals (i.e. safety, reliability, quality, costs, etc.), guided by Turnaround Manual.
  • Establishes overall turnaround priorities. Fully integrate all activities (i.e. Operations, Maintenance, Investment Projects, HSEQ, etc.) related to turnarounds and unit shutdowns in order to meet priorities.
  • Facilitate decision making and the preparation process and define decision rights / authorizations. When necessary, review any submittals for approvals.
  • Set quality expectations for the planning process. Track and communicate progress against target milestones.
  • Lead and manage turnaround execution with efficient and effective management on safety, cost, schedule / progress, contractors, materials, etc. Ensure early and effective resolutions of any constraints or issues, manage scope creeps (additional work management), etc.
  • Ensure compliance with required policies and regulatory requirements. Notify relevant stakeholders / authorities as appropriate.
  • Define field execution information and communication plans.
  • Lead pre-turnaround projects when required.
  • Chair of Turnaround Core Team (consisting of Cost Controller, Planner / Scheduler & Coordinators (Inspection, QA, Operations, Materials, Contracts, Safety, Procurement, etc.)
  • Member of Turnaround Steering Team (consisting of Finance / Controls Manager, Investment Project Manager, Technical Manager, Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, HSEQ Manager, etc.)
  • Liaise between the Steering Team and Core Team to build consensus, set strategy and clear any road blocks.
  • Keep Steering Team and Refinery Management Team informed on progress and issues.
  • Develop turnaround organization and acquire resources to facilitate turnaround planning and subsequent turnaround executions.
  • Ensure the right people for the right jobs.

about the manager/team

You will report to the Maintenance Manager, and responsible for turnaround management (including unit shutdowns) from initial long range planning through to post-turnaround review to achieve key deliverables which includes safety, cost, schedule, quality & efficiency in order to secure high operational availability.

You will work closely with various internal stakeholders in Singapore and other company sites and also external stakeholders including contractors and vendors to achieve high operational utilization, availability, profitability, flexibility, process safety and total safety of the Renewable Diesel.

skills & experience required

  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • More than 8 years of relevant experience in oil, refinery, petrochemicals or chemical processing industry with experience in leading teams.
  • Knowledge of process plant production and maintenance, including contractors supervision & management
  • Knowledge of process plant turnaround execution and management, including contracting, safety & quality management.
  • Project management knowledge with contracts management experience and working experience in applicable tools and methodology.
  • Familiar with contracts, supply agreements, terms & conditions, able to work & collaborate effectively with contractors, suppliers, vendors and partners.
