about the company & job
My client is a multinational insurance firm and they are currently looking for a Underwriting and Claims Support Team Leader to join them. As the Underwriting and Claims Support Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

Underwriting Support Management

  • Managing the Underwriting & Claims support team by reviewing capacity, workflow, training requirements and development
  • Recruiting for support team when necessary and co-ordinating training for new starters within the team
  • Conducting the interim and annual appraisals for the team
  • Providing accurate management information to senior team management and underwriters
  • Producing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual metrics on team performance, controls, workflow, capacity, platform output etc

Underwriting Support

  • Supporting the Underwriters in the delivery of an effective and efficient administration service
  • Ensuring timely and accurate data entry and scanning of risk documentation onto all systems within agreed service levels
  • Verifying data integrity & accuracy
  • Photocopying, logging and scanning quotes and declinatures, filing, archiving and scanning
  • Ensuring all files are maintained and readily available to support internal and external audits
  • Interacting with other teams like Claims, Finance, Compliance, Management Services and other underwriting teams on matters affecting or related to accounts within the portfolio
  • Providing pre-underwriting and rating support to Underwriters and other staff
  • Maintaining team standards through supporting other underwriting assistants in achieving their service/quality levels and targets, as required
  • Attending client meetings as required

Claims Support

  • Supporting the Claims Managers in the delivery of an effective and efficient administration service including (where appropriate) the review and agreement of invoices and payments; and with the preparation of documentation to help the evaluation of specific claims
  • Ensuring timely and accurate data entry and filing of claim documentation onto all systems within agreed service levels
  • Preparing claims summaries and respond promptly to reinsurance queries
  • Producing and maintaining databases to enhance data presentation, analysis and storage;
  • Participating in cross team and intra-team projects as required
  • Building effective working relations with other team members



skills and experience required
Your requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Underwriting and Claims team management experience required
