Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Troubleshooting: Act as the subject matter expert for routine and non-routine operations, actively troubleshooting complex equipment and process anomalies to maximize plant uptime.
- Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Analyze plant KPIs (such as power consumption and overall efficiency) to identify and lead process, energy, and equipment reliability improvements.
- Engineering & Project Management: Conduct detailed process engineering analyses (e.g., heat and mass balances) and take full ownership of selected Management of Change (MOC) projects for facility modifications.
- Process Safety & Compliance: Champion process safety by participating in rigorous technical reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, FMEA, RAM) and validating operational/start-up manuals against design specifications.
- Incident Investigation: Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for operational abnormalities and safety incidents, ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented.
- Emergency Response: Serve as an active participant in the site's emergency response framework, undertaking designated roles during drills and critical events.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- At least 8 years of hands-on process engineering experience, ideally within continuous heavy processing, petrochemical, or large-scale specialized gas facilities.
- Strong working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), Process Hazard Analysis, and relevant international engineering codes.
- Proven track record in commissioning, operating, and troubleshooting complex, large-scale plant systems.
- Cross-disciplinary understanding (electrical, instrumentation, or mechanical) and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification are highly advantageous.
