Engineering & Technical Direction
- Spearhead the creation and upkeep of the Basis of Design, discipline standards, and the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR).
- Scrutinise and sign off on all project RFIs, proposed design modifications, and core design deliverable.
- Function as the internal SME regarding complex mechanical setups, utility networks, HVAC, and cleanroom design.
- Weigh the pros and cons of new engineering proposals by analysing their effect on project timelines, budget constraints, long-term maintainability, and daily operations.
- Play an active role in risk mitigation discussions, value engineering sessions, and Design for Safety (DfS) workshops.
Project Execution & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Take charge as the central technical bridge communicating with third-party vendors, external consultants, and EPC contractors.
- Work hand-in-hand with internal groups such as EHS, Facilities Management, Process Engineering, and the Production unit to align project goals.
- Untangle complex technical disputes to keep project momentum going and facilitate rapid decision-making.
- Lend your technical eye to the purchasing and assessment of critical utility systems and heavy mechanical equipment.
- Drive continuous engineering oversight during the actual site build, facility qualification, commissioning stages, and the final transition to operations.
- Enforce absolute adherence to statutory laws, local authority guidelines, and industry-specific regulations.
skills and experience required
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience working on complex, high-tech facility projects.
- Showcase of end-to-end project life cycle experience spanning design, construction, commissioning, and handover, anchored by deep technical mastery of HVAC, cleanrooms, and mechanical utilities including process exhaust, clean dry air, and chilled water systems.
- Well versed with EPC project delivery, design management, and change management processes.
- Proficiency in Navisworks and Revit (or other BIM software) is highly advantageous.
