Our client is a global advertising MNC with a well-established presence in more than 80 different countries. They operate an extensive and premium portfolio of digital and static advertising assets (including OOH) situated across a significant national network of high-volume public major transport points. They are strategically expanding their commercial team to maximize revenue from key client segments and are looking to hire an account manager.
about the role
As an Account Manager, your primary focus is high-value advertising sales across the company’s premium media inventory, specifically OOH. The incumbent will be responsible for servicing and expanding the client base, including hunting and bringing in new business. In particular, there is a need to communicate, liaise and present in Mandarin to the Mandarin-only-speaking client segment, which forms a portion of the company's existing and prospective business.
Key Success Mandates:
- Revenue Generation: Consistently achieve and exceed aggressive sales targets by proactively selling advertising space across the company's high-impact media network.
- Client Engagement & Market Penetration: Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within the agency and direct client sectors, with a specific mandate to expand reach into the Mandarin-speaking client pool.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain deep, trust-based relationships with senior client stakeholders and agency partners, acting as a strategic consultant for their OOH campaigns.
- Communication & Negotiation: Design, deliver, and negotiate complex media proposals and contracts. This requires fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese to effectively manage, and conduct sales pitches and proposals to the segment of the client portfolio that communicates only in Mandarin.
- Sales Strategy: Strategically manage an active, high-value sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and predictable revenue streams.
- Operational Alignment: Collaborate seamlessly with internal departments to ensure all contractual obligations and campaign delivery standards are met.
- Competitive Edge: Maintain acute awareness of market dynamics and competitor offerings to continually refine the company’s value proposition and secure market share.
skills and expertise required
- At least 3 years of experience in a target-oriented B2B sales or commercial role with experience in hunting and new business development. Whilst experience within media and advertising will be an added advantage, candidates with strong B2B full cycle sales experience, particularly those with experience closing sales in Mandarin to Mandarin speaking clients is also desirable
- Experience of full sales cycle from prospecting to close
- A relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma or Bachelor's Degree) in a business, communication, or marketing-related field.
- Exceptional written and verbal fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is essential. This is required as the role involves frequent interaction, negotiation, and pitch delivery to a significant number of Mandarin-speaking clients and partners.
- Highly developed business acumen, strong negotiation abilities, and excellent numerical skills for pricing and proposal formulation.
- Expertise in developing professional sales materials, including proficiency in MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel) for data analysis and presentation building.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, work independently, and contribute collaboratively to a senior commercial team.
- Prior knowledge of the Out-of-Home (OOH) or Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) landscape in Singapore is a significant asset.
