about the role
They are looking for an accomplished finance professional to step in as a Financial Transformation Driver and Operations Expert. Your mission will be two-fold: to ensure flawless execution of day-to-day financial operations across six Southeast Asian countries and to spearhead critical process improvements.
You will be intimately involved in all core areas of financial accounting, including the full monthly and year-end closing cycles, ensuring both accuracy and timeliness. A significant part of the role involves compliance and audit management, where you will coordinate external audits, manage timely and accurate filing of GST/VAT/SST returns, and work closely on tax matters, including tax audits and refund processes. You will also support payroll and mobility-related matters.
Crucially, you'll be a catalyst for change by critically reviewing existing processes, suggesting, and collaboratively implementing operational efficiencies. This includes involvement in high-value projects such as reviewing permanent establishment for SEA entities and supporting complex tax activities (e.g., intercompany transactions, withholding tax). You must be a quick learner, highly adaptable, and ready to take on various ad hoc projects aligned with business needs, working seamlessly with both internal and external stakeholders.
skills and experience needed
The ideal candidate is an experienced and meticulously detail-oriented professional with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant post-qualification experience, underpinned by a Bachelor's degree in accounting. A background in audit & assurance is highly preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in financial scrutiny and compliance.
You have a proven track record of delivering work on-time and with zero defects, ideally gained in a multi-geography/multi-currency context. Your ability to analyze financial data, think critically, and effectively communicate complex accounting information, policies, and procedures in excellent written and verbal English is essential.
You must possess strong systems proficiency, especially in Excel, to efficiently synthesize and analyze data. Beyond technical skills, the successful candidate will have the ability to understand complex concepts and data flows, and proactively offer opinions and innovative ideas for improvement. Experience or the ability to quickly learn financial systems and reporting tools such as SAP, Workday, or Tableau will be a significant advantage. Finally, you must be a flexible, adaptable, and ethical individual who thrives on working independently and as part of a team, always acting with the highest levels of integrity.
