about the job
Partnering directly with the Portfolio Manager, we are seeking an Analyst to join their ranks. This position seeks a talent ideally with Equities/Private Equity or multi asset coverage, keen on joining a growing outfit. My client focuses on a Activist strategy focusing on Korean markets. The role will include, but not limited to:
...
Conduct in-depth financial analysis and build complex valuation models (DCF, LBO, merger models, etc.) to evaluate investment opportunities in the Korean public equity market.
Proactively research and identify undervalued Korean companies that would benefit from shareholder activism or strategic initiatives.
Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential investment targets, including market research, competitive analysis, and management assessments.
Analyze corporate governance, capital structure, and operational inefficiencies to identify potential catalysts for value creation.
Assist in monitoring portfolio companies, preparing investment memos, and developing strategies for active engagement with management and boards.
Present research findings and investment recommendations.
skills and experience required
2-4 years of experience in a relevant field such as private equity, equity research, investment banking, or corporate finance.
Must be fluent in Korean and English (both written and verbal) to effectively conduct research and engage with companies in Korea.
Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills are essential. A strong understanding of accounting principles and corporate finance is required.
Advantageous, but not a must to have Korean equity market knowledge and its regulatory landscape and corporate governance norms. Experience in shareholder activism or a strong interest in the space is a plus.
Must be a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and independent thinker. The ability to work collaboratively in a small, fast-paced team and to communicate complex ideas clearly is critical.
