The successful candidate will join a specialized team responsible for maintaining and supporting trading-related applications used by front-office sales and other stakeholders. The team ensures the seamless operation of systems critical to market transactions, risk oversight, and regulatory compliance. Working in a fast-paced environment, the role is focused on overseeing application performance, ensuring system reliability, and responding effectively to user and system issues. You will engage with developers, infrastructure engineers, and global support teams. Your work will directly contribute to the stability and performance of capital market platforms during the crucial operational hours of the Asia region. You key responsibilities include:
- Setting up and managing application monitoring tools in collaboration with development teams.
- Supervising overnight batch processes, especially during the Singapore morning hours.
- Responding to and managing incident reports, service requests, and inquiries from business users such as traders, analysts, and market data teams.
- Collaborating with global development teams to enhance system reliability and resolve recurring issues.
- Maintaining documentation and knowledge bases related to supported applications.
- Providing insights and requirements for non-functional improvements like automation and monitoring enhancements.
skills and experience required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application support or IT operations, preferably within financial services or capital markets.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and strong command of SQL.
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as XML, PL/SQL, MQ, CFT, and Control-M.
- Familiarity with application monitoring tools (e.g., ITRS Geneos, ElasticSearch).
- Exposure to systems supporting valuation, reconciliation, payments, or trade confirmations.
- Sound understanding of capital markets concepts and trade lifecycle processes.
- Knowledge of financial instruments such as FX, fixed income, credit derivatives, and interest rate products.
- ITIL certification or equivalent understanding of IT service management best practices.
