As the company continues its exciting growth journey, including significant expansion in the US market and the integration of key strategic entities, they are looking for passionate and skilled individuals like you to join their talented team.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for you, as a driven and meticulous finance professional, to make a significant impact within the company's Singapore-based finance team. The role encompasses a diverse and engaging range of responsibilities, with your time strategically focused across several key areas, allowing you to make a broad impact.
A primary focus of your role will be dedicated to US Entity Excellence. In this capacity, you will take the lead on all US accounting operations for the new combined US entity. This involves ensuring the precision and timeliness of financial transaction recording under US GAAP, adeptly managing month-end and year-end closing procedures, and preparing comprehensive financial statements and reporting packages. A critical component of this responsibility will be fostering close collaboration with US-based service providers and internal teams. This teamwork is essential to ensure flawless operations and robust compliance, which includes providing assistance with various US regulatory filings. Your expertise will also be vital in continuously identifying opportunities to enhance accounting processes and strengthen internal controls specifically for the US market.
A significant portion of your efforts will be directed towards Supporting International Operations. This involves providing crucial accounting and reporting support for other significant international entities within the group. The role will require you to work closely with the Finance Manager in Barcelona on detailed financial analysis, complex reconciliations, and fulfilling specific reporting requirements for these entities. Furthermore, you will manage intercompany transactions and play a supportive role during audit processes and on ad-hoc projects related to these international operations.
Additionally, you will play a key part in Navigating the US Tax Landscape. This responsibility includes assisting with the preparation and coordination of US federal and state corporate income tax filings. This involves gathering essential information for tax provisions, liaising effectively with external US tax advisors, and diligently ensuring that your knowledge of relevant US tax regulations remains current.
A critical aspect underpinning all these responsibilities is the need for flexibility in your working hours. This adaptability is essential for you to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders located in the US Pacific time zone, ensuring seamless communication and operational efficiency across global teams.
Skills and Experience Needed
Our client is seeking an individual like you, who is not only technically proficient but also possesses a proactive mindset and a collaborative spirit. You will ideally hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field; a professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, or ACCA is highly desirable.
A cornerstone of this role is significant, demonstrable experience in an accounting capacity, showcasing your deep, hands-on expertise in US GAAP. Typically, this would translate to around five or more years of experience for a Senior Accountant level and seven or more years for an Assistant Manager level. Furthermore, your proven experience working directly with US-based companies is essential, coupled with a strong understanding of their specific reporting requirements and the broader US financial landscape. A solid grasp of US corporate tax principles and compliance obligations is also required.
You will be proficient in using accounting software and ERP systems, with experience in platforms commonly utilized by international corporations being a distinct advantage. Your exceptional analytical abilities, a keen eye for detail, and an unwavering commitment to accuracy are paramount. Alongside these technical skills, your outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across different geographical locations and cultural backgrounds.
A self-starting attitude is crucial, with the ability for you to work autonomously, manage priorities efficiently, and consistently meet deadlines. Your genuine willingness and adaptability to work flexible hours will be needed to accommodate collaboration with US-based teams. While not essential, any prior experience you have in the fast-paced payments or fintech industry would be considered a valuable asset. Ultimately, you will have the ability to thrive and contribute positively in a rapidly evolving, dynamic, and globally-oriented work environment.
Dedicated and ambitious finance professionals like you, with the requisite US GAAP and US reporting expertise, who are eager to take on a pivotal role within a forward-thinking global company are encouraged to apply. This position offers a unique chance for you to contribute to a significant growth phase and shape the financial success of the company's expanding US operations from their vibrant Singapore hub.
